School closure on Friday 2nd March 2018
Having taken into account several different weather forecasts and the weather overnight, I am concerned about the safety and well-being of pupils and staff travelling to and from school. This, as well as the ice and snow build up on the school site is a concern when trying to run a safe and effective school.
It is therefore with regret I am informing you that the school will be closed on Friday 2nd March 2018 and we hope parents/carers understand the necessity to close the school at this time. We have tried our best to remain open during this period of adverse weather.
With school staff having to travel into the borough from both across London and outside of London, having struggled to keep open yesterday with some staff absent, we are unable to open today as fewer staff are able to travel to and from school.
I have liaised with other Heads at local schools, such as John Betts, Addison and Flora Gardens who are also concerned and therefore are closing today.
The weather is expected to brighten up over the weekend and I expect the school will be back open on Monday. I assure you that the decision to close the school has not been taken lightly.
